We welcome Amanda Jill Hill as our newest BluOrchid Communication Specialist! Amanda will be answering all emails & phone calls. She will be in charge of our fabulous social media, including our new BLOG (yes, we know we are 7 months behind)! Look forward to great new campaigns & a much quicker response time.

Well, so many of you have asked us WHO will photograph our wedding!? It is true that we would be super particular about the photographs for our own big day and I'm proud to say that we have made a wonderful selection. Dawn from Dawn Schubert Photography came in to assist me with a wedding a few weeks ago and she took our engagement photographs at that time. She, along with Alison Berk of Imagin Photography, will be photographing our big day! Nathaniel and I couldn't be happier with the sneak peak of photographs that Dawn gave us! We anxiously await the others and can't wait to put up a nice canvas collection of these in our home! Have a look at a few of our favorites!

So, I am so far behind with blogging....Mr. Levi is about ready for his next session already...and I'm just now getting this one up! Sorry!!!! I'm really going to try to do better! Here are a few of my favs from his session. His mom is a good friend of mine (and my fabulous hair stylist) and she is so crafty. She made this cute little Dr. Suess outfit since Levi's nursery is decorated with Dr. Suess. It was super cute...even had the little tie! Enough chatter....onto the photographs! Enjoy!

Hello 2011 High School Seniors! BluOrchid is in need of some senior class members to model for us for the 2011 year. Our main interest at this time is to find senior models for our 2011/12 Marketing Campaign. In addition, we need a few lucky seniors to model for us at a senior photography course that we are teaching this October! This is truly a one of kind experience that you will want to be part of....one of my recent seniors wrote on her application "go big or go home." I thought that was very fitting here in that modeling may not have been something that she initially thought of doing, but after working with us, she found it was really fun and thought, well, why not!?

What's in it for you???
Well, here is what you get*:

2 models will be chosen to work with us at the class we are instructing at and have the chance to be pampered all day and have a gazillion senior portraits to show off to friends! More details will be given to the winners when announced.
All remaining participants will get a free senior sitting session for a modeling package ($120 value)
25 stylized star cards to be mailed out to friends who would be interested in a senior session with us ($132 value)
5 Myspace/Facebook images ($75 value)
A really cute T-shirt with our logo ($25 value)

*This is a minimum! More incentives can be earned when we receive referrals from you!

What is expected from you:

Bring your enthusiasm! It's going to be a fun year!
All models must prepay for their senior session to qualify for the contest. Our model package is priced at $350. This ENTIRE amount will go towards photographs....your session is FREE! Your senior portraits must be taken before Oct 15, 2010.
You will be representing and working with us throughout the senior year. Not only will this be a fun experience for you, but it's also an essential tool for us to keep our name out there in front of your friends and peers. We rely on your support throughout the year! Active senior models will definitely be rewarded. Inactive models...not so much! :)
The 25 Star Cards will feature images from your session and will be mailed out to 25 of your friends that have not yet had their senior portraits taken. We need you to provide the 25 names and addresses. Every time we get a referral from you....you get $50 gift card from us!
We often need models on short notice to test new backgrounds, practice techniques, etc. Although we don't expect you to drop everything for us, we just want to let you know that this may happen!
We expect you to collect 25 addresses of junior friends for our mailing database. Of course, your images will be highlighted in these mailing campaigns, as you are our star!!!
We expect any Facebook and Myspace images that we provide you to be used as the highlight images on your page through your senior year to help promote our business. We must be on your Facebook and Myspace friends list.
If you are involved in sports, teams, or groups: we expect you to suggest our services to the coordinator for any photography services, such as team pictures, group gifts, dances, etc.
We expect you to have a great time, feel like a rockstar, and have the best in senior portraits! You'll see that we'll become great friends during your senior year! We are here for you, and expect the same from our models!

Meet Baby Caroline! Newborn Baby Photography Marion, AR by BluOrchid Photography

This is Miss Caroline! She is such a little doll, isn't she?! We had so much fun working with her and her family to do her session! Caroline is the first baby we've ever done a suspension photograph with (see the tree below)! Poor Nathaniel was slaving away outside getting the tree limb ready for us. If Caroline looks familiar to you, it's because her adorable brother Carter B (seen with her below) is a graduate of our Bebe Program! We're so excited to have the opportunity to keep working with their family, and we can't wait until little Miss Caroline comes to see us again! Here are a few pictures from her newborn session. We LOVE to learn about photography!

We had the opportunity to go to Chicago for a conference this week. It was great fun to see some of our old friends....but in the midst of all of it, we got food poisoning! It was a rough time! Who would have thought....go out of town and then end up staying in our rooms being sick over half the time. Luckily, we did get to see the 2nd and 3rd days of the conference, but we had good friends taking notes for us on the first day. We did get to be included in the group photo on day 2! So, here we are with our group! Thanks for all your patience while we've been out of town. We have orders coming in at the end of this week and beginning of the next.

This is Ms. Tonya. She was a delight to work with. At BluOrchid, we love to do maternity sessions, and all cients who sign up for our Bebe Collection receive a complimentary maternity session included.

This is her groom-to-be, Chris. We think it's so sweet when the man comes-along to support his expecting lady. Aren't their smiles charming?

For those expecting moms who might be curious about maternity photography, but are nervous about the semi-nude poses, a lot of our clients opt for fully-clothed maternity portraits which we think are just as gorgeous.

They got a big canvas of this one to hang above their baby's basinett.

We thought the red fabric looked lovely on her.

We can't wait to meet Tonya's newborn.

This is Miss Zoee! She's one of the newest babies in our Bebe Collection, and she is such a doll! We met Miss Zoee when we did our Christmas fundraiser Cutest Elf Contest for Families in Transition, a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. Look at the head-of-hair on this little heartbreaker! She was not so much into the tutu idea at the beginning, but she warmed-up to it and gave us the cutest grins. We love when parents decide to go with our Bebe Collection, because we get to see the baby change progressively throughout his or her first year. Zoee was a tad older than our Bebe Collection clients generally are at their first session, but we just modified the plan for her. We look forward to this cutie's six month session, but until then have a look at a few of our favorites from her three month session. Isn't she adorable?

Her mom brought some of the cutest little headbands for her to wear. We love when clients come in with cute ideas of their own, but we also have fun props of our own to add into the mix.

Meet Brody and Richard Wayne. These two little boys were absolutely adorable and had such fun little personalities. We went out to the old mill. Brody was so curious about the old farm equipment that I had to spend a large amount of time chasing him throughout his little adventure. Richard Wayne, however, was not as curious and I had to lure him into the old mill by telling him about the owls who like to hide up in the eaves of the building and how if he smiled really well the owls would come out and say "Hi!" A few minutes into our fun game, an owl came out and startled us, but Richard Wayne wasn't frightened at all and gave me the best smile of the session.

Brody's mom loved this one so much she decided to get a big canvas.

This is one of my really good friends, Ching, and her family. She and Albert were married just last year and little Levi was soon on his way! I was so excited that she wanted me to do his first portraits and now he is a member of our Bebe Collection...so we will be seeing this sweetheart every few months. It was a really fun session because not only did I have his parents there with him to celebrate, but both sides of grandparents were there too! We captured lots of moments for them and I'm proud to show them off for my friend! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of this history in your lives! Ching had this super sweet hat and we had the perfect blanket to go with it! I love this shot!

Levi was born near Christmas and Ching is pretty crafty! She made him this little Santa hat to wear! Be the time we did the session, it barely fit his little head! But this cute little expression is just the best!

Perfect timing! Levi looked right up at his grandmother as she was looking at him and I happened to capture it.

Meet Mr. John Parker. He was a serious one....but I just love that type. The serious babies always have such soulful eyes! He wasn't feeling his best that day, but he sure did give us some major cuteness to work with! This was his 6 month session and we had some fun with my new Teddy Bear set. He rocked that bear hat like there was no tomorrow. We also got a few of him in his little jeans. I love how he looks like he is in time out in the one with him looking up at me. This is the lovely Ms. Vivian and her sweetheart Rico. We will be photographing their wedding soon but first we, of course, did their gorgeous engagement portraits. We had a great time with them down at the river and even went to the cheesecake corner in downtown Memphis! I must say, Vivian has excellent taste in cheesecake....and I thought poor Rico was going to have to fight for her attention when she had her eyes on that cake! It's obvious that she loves it! They are such a sweet couple and I'm so excited about the wedding. You will see a hint of what the wedding will look like in their clothes! This is Alexis and Jeff. They have such an interesting story. They met each other at the church where they were married out in the playground (they met when they were children). They both grew up and went their separate ways. It was in the last few years that they found one another again and they knew that it was the love of a lifetime. I was so happy that they decided to include me in their day. Alexis is an artist herself and was very interested in our work...and I am thrilled that she "got" me! She planned a beautiful reception at the Memphis College of Art. I've not worked there before, but it was great! They had a gorgeous ceremony and a blast at the recpetion. I can't wait for them to see these....so here is a peek of many beautiful portraits to come! Love you guys!

I absolutely love it when the bride and groom see each other before the actual ceremony. It is so much more intimate....look at the looks on their faces as they saw each other for the first time.

The other cool part about seeing each other before is that you actually get to enjoy it. They were so comfortable and just really looked so in love, it was great to be part of that.

The church had amazing chandeliers! I love the sparkle of light over the ceremony.

This is Mr. Bryan. He came to use a couple of years ago and it was time for some new photographs of this little fella! His "Na" (aka his grandmother) was so great to work with. She used all the bribes very appropriately! He was up for a ton of fun. One of his favorite things is his spiderman umbrella...we used that to help us get him having fun for the session. Then we switched gears and he rocked it out for me with his guitar! Last, we headed over and had some beautiful protraits made with him just being a boy! This is Ms. Riley. She was supposed to arrive a little earlier than she did but she finally made her way here and her parents are simply in love with that sweet girl. It seems like my girls in the Bebe collection family are few and far between, but when they come, they just let me get all creative with my girly stuff. I knitted a few new hats and made a new tutu for this one....I just couldn't resist! She was only 10 days old when she came to see me and was just a sweetheart. She slept a lot and was just the most easy to pose baby ever! I was really pleased with her portraits and her parents couldn't have been prouder. Meet Jess and Jared. They came to me and wanted something a little more on the artistic side for their maternity session. Meet Ms. Natalie. She came to me for her senior portraits. During her consultation session she told me that she really likes the look of furniture outside and loves the fall colors. So I took those cues and ran with them. She purposefully waited until fall so it would be cooler out and the leaves would be beautiful. Well, the leaves were beautiful but it was unseasonably warm that day and we got a little hot. Oh well....I think it was worth it for some of the gorgeous shots we got of her. She thought I was a total nut when I took her over to some willow trees and posed her there...but they ended up being her favorites! Her mom was too cute as well and she decided to go for an album so when Natalie is off to college she can remember the fun times by reminiscing over the book. This is Mr. Whitten. He came to see me just a week after he made his way into the world. His mom came in a few weeks before he arrived and did a secret maternity session for a surprise for her husband. We had a great time with Mr. Whitten. He was a bit fussy with us at first, but we just cranked up the vacuum cleaner and he was in heaven! We got some really sweet shots of him and one that I absolutely love of him on his dad's arm! Meet Ms. Audi! She graduates this coming May from Marion H.S. She was a really fun senior to work with and is very talented...she plays 3 instruments. She wanted to have some fun during her session and we did just that! We ended up in downtown Memphis and went all over to find the coolest graffiti walls and then she decided for her last outfit that she wanted some water in the background. So we made our way over to the fountains and not only did she have it in the background...that crazy girl hopped right in the middle of the fountains! It was a really great day for it because it was unseasonable warm that day! She is full of personality and spunk and was a blast to work with. I really liked her portraits and pre-designed an album for her viewing and ordering session of some of my favorites from the day. Have a look at all the fun we had!

This is one of my fun families from the quickie sessions we did this fall. They were really fun and in just 20 minutes, we got some great images for them. They have even talked about coming back later to do another session because they really enjoyed it! I can't wait to work with them again....the youngest was quite amazed with the bubble blower and had the biggest blue eyes ever! Thanks guys for being so great!

Well, Jess and Jared are coming in this week to see their maternity portraits and some of their little man, baby Gavin. This family was just a dream to work with! It was a really cold day so we would have to take a few then hop in the car to heat ourselves up. Ms. L was too cute for words and her little lips would quiver but she was ready with a smile anyways! I just love the cute little outfits they came in as well...everyone was so well coordinated! Future clients....take note....this is the type of thing I like to see when people come for sessions. And you can see why! They look adorable! I'm so happy that they decided to come to me for this year's family portraits and I hope to see them year after year. Maybe next year, D. will have his front teeth again!!! Well, you have to have a look for yourself!

D and L's mom decided she wanted to have some beautiful art pieces of each child so we created these beautiful montages and they will be framed in our newest frames by Wild Sorbet! The frames will be a distressed black and chocolate brown to go in their kitchen! I can't wait til the frames get here so I can take a photo of them all together to show you!

Well, it is time now for Mr. Carter B to graduate from my Bebe Program and move on up to the Diplome Program!!!! He came last month for his last session of the collection and we had a super fun time with him and his family! He brought along lots of toys including a very real looking motorcycle and he found adventure everywhere we went! I love this little guy and it has been a fabulous year working with him and his family! Can't say much else other than....have a look for yourself...this kid has eyes that are totaly captivating!

Well, the results are in! We had a great time with our Halloween charity event and had over 500 items donated to Families in Transition! We photographed over 50 children and look forward to seeing you all again next year! The Families in Transition was very happy to receive the donations so we decided to have another charity event for Christmas time!!!

We will be hosting a "Cutest Elf Contest" December 12th from 10am-5pm. We will provide the elf/santa/reindeer hats. All you have to do is bring your little one and one or more clothing items to enter your child into the contest. All participants will be on the blog and you and your friends and family will have one week to vote for the cutest child! The winner will receive an awesome portrait session with BluOrchid Photography and a complimentary 8x10 from that session!

If you are interested in having a complimentary 5x7 of your child from the contest, just bring in 3 or more canned/non-parishable food items and we will provide the free picture!

Ok everyone....you have to meet my new friend, Paula! She called me and we did her senior pictures last month. She and her mom came in tonight for her viewing and ordering session and she was soooo happy with them! She is full of spunk and personality and laughed her head off at me the day of the session (those of you who have shot with me know I'm a total klutz and I tripped over everything a million times)! She has since become my buddy and brought me the sweetest thing tonight. It was an angel feather and it had this poem with it that talked about our friendship and how we are kept safe. Very sweet and a nice reminder of our fun time together. She also came out and helped Nathaniel and I with the Halloween fundraiser...so she's just a sweet girl and I'm so glad that she loved her photographs so much! Paula, you are truly beautiful, inside and out! Thanks for finding me! Ok people, without further a do......

BluOrchid Photography in a Print Competition

Well, we got back from the annual Inferno Conference in Nashville, TN this past week. I was really excited to go because it is always a good time getting together with my photography friends from all over the world and just getting to "talk shop" for a few days. While I was there, I entered the print competition (my first ever) and was so nervous about it. I made Nate choose the final 3 images I entered. I entered one print each in the Wedding, Group, and Individual categories. I was sitting there at my table trying desperately not to pass out from my nervousness when they called my name as the 3rd place winner in the Individual category. Well, you would have thought I had won the Academy Award or something! I sprang out of my chair and went up to collect my ribbon and print and got my photo taken with the judges. It was really exciting. There were something like 94 entried from photographers all over and I was very excited to have placed since I had never competed before. It's hard to look at my work objectively since I have so many emotional connections to it, but I wanted to share the print that placed! It is called "Solemn Grace" (you have to name your competition entries and the name can either make or break your score). This photo was on the blog a while back, but I made a few changes to it and am going to re-post it for you to see!

This is Will and Sam.....seriously 2 of the sweetest and cutest boys I have had the pleasure of working with. Sam (the younger of the 2) was my little ham....just cheesing away in every shot. Will was very tactful about being the older brother. He is the more serious one and takes his job as the one to look up to very seriously! I just think these boys are a great pair and I love the way their photos turned out. I think we really captured their personalities here for their mom. Meet Benjamin, The newest member of our Bebe Collection Family. We did his mother's maternity portraits not too long ago and I was so excited to see this little one arrive. He is sooooo cute with all that dark hair. He also has these gorgeous gray colored eyes! I've never seen anyone's eyes that color before! He was really good for us too and his big brother, Tayton, has turned out to be such a great big brother! I photographed Tayton last fall and he is just really growing too! Time flies! I saw a post by Jac (Ben and Tayton's mom) on Facebook last night that said that little Ben is already in his next size clothes! I can't believe he's growing so fast. Ok, so I have been hearing this a LOT lately! I meet an awesome high school senior and I say "have you had your senior portraits taken yet?" They say, well, we have to use some boring guy my school makes me go to! Uhhh! NO YOU DON'T!!!! You do have to use the boring guy the school makes you go to for the boring/flat photo they put of you in the yearbook....but if you want the good stuff, come see me! That's exactly what Miss Laralee did! She was a blast to shoot with and just cute as she can be! We went to a couple of fun locations around Marion, AR and then some in the studio. She was the first to be photographed on a few of my new backdrops! I love the pink one (it's called Girls Only!). Have a look at some of my favs from her session!

Something a bit personal.....

Well, I normally don't do this, but I think I might change that. I am going to post some things that are pretty personal to me. I think it is good for my clients to get to know the non-photographer side of me and get a little insight on who I really am. I want you all to meet my beautiful grandmother, Carol (aka Ganny). She started to get sick in March of this year and has been thru a lot so far. She was diagnosed with Adrenal carcinoma. She had surgery to remove the root of the problem (her left adrenal gland) and it was so severe that she ended up losing her left kidney as well. She left the hospital after surgery and just continued to get sicker. She started having pain on her right side as well. They ended up doing another scan to find that the tumor was also on her right adrenal gland (although not quite as large as a football yet like the left one had been). So the doctors went back and forth trying to figure out what was going on because it is VERY rare to get cancer in both adrenal glands. Usually there is another cause. Well, last month, they finally figured out that it was all steming from her left lung. She has lung cancer. It is stage 4 and she has been having radiation on her adrenal tumor and will start chemo in the next few weeks for the lung cancer. It has also spread to her lymph nodes. I have been missing her and wanting to see her for a while now and I came out to California to see her this week (therefore I am out of town and will be slow to return emails and phone calls). I've made it my mission to do some special photo projects with her because when I go back home, I want to remember everything I can about this wonderful lady. We went to the beach the 2nd day I was here and just watched the big waves. I was trying to be discreet about capturing a few snaps of her, but she caught me and was a little grumpy about it! You will see that in the nice facial expression she was giving me. But today was much better. I went with her to her radiation appointment and to see her oncologist. I did her makeup and helped with her hair and she felt really pretty today. She even willingly let me take a few photos of her. It was a fun day hanging out with her. Later we even made a couple of pecan pies to take to her doctors tomorrow (I hope there isn't a hunk missing from one because they sure did look yummy)! I got a few snaps of her cooking...she has always been a great cook. And finally, I got a photograph of her hands. She was holding a courage bracelet that my mom and sister sent her. I loved the symbolism. I ask for all who read this to pray for her and her condition. I love her very much and just wanted to share her story. She is a brave, strong, beautiful woman that I greatly admire and love.

We decided to take a walk out into the vineyard behind their house and the grapes looked so pretty that Ganny decided to eat one...it was really sour though...and her face showed it. I was laughing so hard when she did that. I just love the way her nose crinkles up when she makes a face.

This lady can throw down in the kitchen. These pies are so easy to make and I know she didn't really need my help to make them, but it was so fun being in the kitchen with her. We used to make preserves together when I was growing up.

Meet Erica and Jermaine. We did their engagement session and I am really excited about putting these on the blog. We went to downtown Memphis for this session and found some really cool, grungy locations. Well, now that the wedding is over, I can officially put Susan's bridal session on the blog. When we were getting the session planned, her words to me were "I want it to look like I should be in a magazine." And that's exactly what we did! She let me be creative and fun and we just had a great time. Her good friend Carla (the best assistant I ever had on the fly) came along to fluff the dress and smooth the hair...but she also helped with the laughs. She was great at getting Susan to crack up! Thanks Carla!!!! Anyhow, we decided to stay in Marion for this session and I'm glad we did, we got some really different stuff....and it helped that Susan looked like a goddess (even sitting on top of a pile of old tires...yes I said old tires...don't worry, we protected the dress)! I just love this girl. She even went into the mosquito infested forest with me! Oh, and you have to look closely, but check out the one with the fire hose in the background! Her hubby (fiance at the time) is a fireman and that hose was just laying there all random! We knew we had to incorporate it! Well, enough of me going on and on....have a look!!!

I'm sure you remember Susan and Matt from their cool engagement portraits! Well, their wedding was utterly spectacular. Susan should seriously consider a career in wedding planning because she designed and put together everything! It was absolutely gorgeous. The wedding was held in the back yard at a friend's home and it couldn't have been more romantic or intimate! The ceremony was great with sentiment and afterwards they hopped onto the back of a firetruck (honoring Matt) and took a ride around the neighborhood with sirens and horns blazing! Then it was on to the reception! They partied it up and the food was delicious (catered by Natural Born Grillers of Southaven MS). The dancing was so fun. It was blazing hot though (I'm not sure I've ever sweated so much in my life....not sure how Susan made it in her dress)! At the end of the night, they were dangling their legs in the pool. It was a blast you guys! Take a look at some highlights from their day!

This is Brandon and Jade. They are just the sweetest couple. They wanted to have some pictures in a natural setting with flowers and the beautiful look of summer. So we headed out to Overton Park in Midtown, Memphis. The day was just gorgeous and the colors were so vibrant. When Brandon and Jade saw their pictures for the first time they loved how we got so many different looks from that one location just by walking around a bit to different sections. I just love the way Jade looks at Brandon and nestles her head under his chin. They are just too cute and I loved working with them on these portraits.

Who says team sports pictures have to be boring?! I got the chance to take something that is usually a mundane event and put my artistic touch to it recently. If any of you follow me on facebook or twitter, you probably remember my recent trip to N. Carolina to visit my brother, Paul. Well, he volunteered to coach a 14-15 year old baseball league this summer and I got to see him in action. He also knew that my camera is like my other arm and that I would for sure bring it, so he talked me into doing their team photo. My only request was that I get to do it MY WAY! He said he was not driving the team all over Wilmington looking for a fun colored wall! I told him that while I was happy he understood my brain for most sessions, that was not quite what I had in mind! So, we went with something a bit out of the box right there on the ball field. I emailed it over to him and he said it was the coolest team picture he had ever seen (and that is major because that guy never compliments me)! Nothing like the same old thing he got when he was a kid! So, I'm excited to show Marion and the Memphis area that just because it is a standard youth group ballteam photo, does not mean it has to be blah!!!!

I just knew that the wedding would be so fun and relaxed and that they would let me get totally artsy! They were married at the beautiful Le Pavillion in Memphis, TN. I've never photographed a wedding there, but let me tell you, it is absolutely gorgeous! I loved the outdoor setting and the cool skylight indoors. Not to mention the beautifully decorated rooms. That place really has some character...and is totally elegant! The wedding was really sweet and Ashley's dress was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I loved it and the beautiful headpiece she wore as well (from Lowe's Bridal in Brinkley AR). And, let's not forget to mention Nick. He was just a sweetheart and he is just so in love with Ashley and it just really shows on his face. They danced the night away before heading off....but not before I stole them for a few romantic shots! I just love the way they interacted, so natural and so sweet! Well, last week I posted a teaser for Susan and Matt. Here is the full deal, guys! I love the way several of these turned out and I just know the wedding is going to be too awesome!!!! Bring on the bug spray....we got eaten alive the day of the engagement session, but all in all, I think it was totally worth it. We got some amazing shots of them in some of my favorite Marion, AR locations. Plus we made a few small journeys to get some really personal shots of them. Matt is a firefighter at an Olive Branch station and we went there and played on the trucks for a bit, then headed out to the Olive Branch Airport where he proposed to Susan while flying over Memphis. I am not quite done photoshopping these yet, but got this one completed and wanted to share. Matt chartered a plane at the Olive Branch, MS airport and popped the question while in the air. He and Susan flew all over the mid-south and when they got over Matt's mother's yard, she could see the huge signs that asked her to marry him (he had set everything up earlier that day). Of course she said yes. We went and did part of their engagement session at the airport and I love the drama and romance in this one! Hope you guys like it too! This is Mr. Bob and Ms. Lee Etta! They were recently married for 50 years!!!! That is just absolutely amazing to me and they were still just as adorable as ever. They had their anniversary party at the Courtyard Marriott in the Avenue Shopping Center in Collierville. It was very nice with some of the most fabulous catering I've ever seen. They have truly been blessed and loved over the years, as there were TONS of friends there to congratulate them on such an amazing accomplishment. Their daughter, Martha, is a good friend of mine and prepared all the beautiful (and very tasty) food! The cake (made by Kake Deevas of Memphis) was gorgeous as well and was enjoyed by all. I believe Martha told me that there was only one piece left after the crowd came thru. The beautiful flowers were designed my LeFleur. I really enjoyed getting to be part of this with them! I hope you get inspired by seeing this couple as they have made it last thru the test of time! Take a look at a few from their special day!

This is Kristi (spelled just like me...that doesn't happen often) and Phillip. They were married on a beautiful carribean island and had their reception back in Memphis at the Chickasaw Village shopping center. It was beautiful with the ornate way the building is set up and they had lots of friends come and wish them well in their marriage. Kristi is such a sweetie...after she got her photographs she said she loved the ones of the food. I've gotten that before....for some reason I love photographing tasty treats and they always look so yummy...so that's why there are several of the great food there! Their friends and family were a blast and I think the reception was beautiful. Have a look for yourself....

Well, it's that time of year again! A new group of high schoolers have that coveted senior status!!! And that means it is time for senior photographs! Now, yes, you have to go to the boring school photographer for the old cap and gown if you want it in the year book! BUT!!!! You do not have to settle for that for the rest of your photographs. Well! I have spent the last few days at a Team Steve workshop in Park City Utah! I have learned a ton and had a blast. I wanted to include some of the photos of our absolutely gorgeous models for the seminar: Shaylee, Garrett, and Cjani. I've got more coming from day 2, but these are the first few that I have worked on! I also ordered some AMAZING new backdrops and they will be available in the next few weeks for new 2010 seniors!!!! We will be having some great specials for seniors and will be hosting a 2010 BluOrchid Senior Model Contest with some cool prizes!!!! More details to come next week! I posted photos not too long ago of Chris and Noel from their awesome engagement session/album! Well, they got married recently and I've got their wedding photos done (the second of my 3 streak)! They were so adorable and loads of fun. Now, these guys know how to party with the best of em! I even had to dance a few songs because the reception ROCKED! Everything was just beautiful, from the gorgeous center pieces, to Noel's princess gown, to the colorful and tasty cake! The wedding and reception were held at the Tower Room on Poplar. This is the first of my triple wedding run recently (remind me to never book 3 within 2 weeks again...it was wild!). Angel and James got married at the beautiful Hunt-Phelan Home. The weather was perfect and they were really a fun couple. After the gorgeous ceremony, we headed over to the reception on a river boat. The place was set just perfect thanks to Michelle of Ambiance Special Events (along with her awesome crew/intern)! The couple lives out in California but they had a nice southern wedding, right down to the fried chicken at the reception. They danced the night away and threw a heck of a party! Everything was just awesome....and I totally loved Angel's RED dress! So different and it was just striking on her! Well, take a look.....

Mr. Carter is 8 months old now! He is such a cutie! He still has those very animated facial expressions. He did great for this session and his parents are just adorable! Carter was totally into being outdoors...but he did worry me a bit because he kept trying to eat the grass! I just love this guy....he is so sweet and will just hug you up every time!
